Say goodbye to Christmas, 13 santa clauses and the elves

As you know, us Icelanders have some strange traditions and of course use every single excuse we use to get drunk. This one I am about to tell you about has nothing to do with drinking, and shouldn´t have because this one is the celebration of the birth of jesus, Christmas. In Iceland there are 13 days of x-mas, and if you passed high school math you have already figured out that the 6th of January is our last day of christmas.

The 6th of january is also the day that the 13 santa clauses return back to the mountains where they live and the moving day of the elves. We also have fire works and a town show to say a proper goodbye to the loving christmas. The arrive at 18 on the 24th and leave the 6th of january at mignight. This year the celebration had to be postponed till the 7th because of terrible weather... so we got an extra day of christmas and the santa clauses and elves got an extra day:)

anyways, gotta go take down all the christmas decoration

catch you on the flipside, juicy
